Susan-Marie (Sam) Farmen, Vice-Principal
Susan-Marie Farmen, “Sam,” is originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and has lived all over the United States. While she has enjoyed a variety of work outside of education over the years, she started her career in education as an art docent and math tutor, before working in early childhood Special Education. She holds a Bachelor of Humanities, a Master of Teaching, a certification in English Language Development, and a certification and in Educational Leadership. She is currently in the second year of her Educational Leadership and Policy Studies doctoral program at the University of Denver.
Mrs. Farmen taught in both public and private schools at the elementary, middle and high school levels for several years before leaving the classroom to coach teachers. She has been a district Teacher Effectiveness Coach, an Early Literacy Specialist, an ESL instructor, a math trainer, and a Dean of Instruction. She has served on a variety of committees ranging from Early Literacy curriculum review to district-level interim assessment design.
She is very excited to return to Heritage Heights Academy and support students, families and staff.
